Privacy Policy — Monero Wallet - XMR
Effective date: October 26, 2026
Monero Wallet - XMR ("the app") is a self-custody Monero (XMR) wallet for iPhone and Mac, published by LA GURANS FOUNDATION ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does with information. The short version: we do not collect any data. We have no accounts, no servers that hold your information, no analytics and no advertising.
1. Information we collect
None. The app does not send us your name, email, phone number, contacts, location, device identifiers, usage data, crash logs, wallet addresses, balances, transactions, keys or recovery phrases. There is no sign-up and no login.
2. What stays on your device
The following are created and stored only on your device, protected by iOS and macOS data protection and the Keychain:
- Wallet private keys and recovery phrases (seeds). They are stored encrypted and are never transmitted to us or to anyone else.
- Wallet files, addresses, subaddresses, labels, transaction history and notes.
- Contacts you save inside the app, invoices you create, and your settings (language, appearance, node choice, PIN).
Your recovery phrase is the only way to restore your wallet. We cannot see it, reset it or recover it for you.
3. Network connections the app makes
To work, the app connects directly from your device to:
- Monero nodes. To read the blockchain and broadcast transactions you send, the app connects to a public Monero node (chosen automatically or by you) or to your own node. Your keys never leave the device: the wallet downloads blockchain data and scans it locally. Like any server, a node can see your IP address and the requests your device makes. Nodes are run by independent third parties, not by us.
- Tor (optional). If you turn on Route through Tor, wallet traffic to nodes goes through the Tor network, which hides your IP address from the node.
- CoinGecko. To show the XMR price and chart, the app requests public market data from the CoinGecko API (api.coingecko.com). The request contains no wallet information. CoinGecko can see your IP address. Price requests are not routed through Tor.
We do not operate any of these services and we receive no data from them.
4. Device permissions
- Camera: used only to scan Monero payment QR codes. Images are processed on the device and are not stored or sent anywhere.
- Photos: if you choose a photo to scan a QR code from, only that photo is read, on the device.
- Face ID / Touch ID: handled entirely by Apple. The app only receives a yes/no result and never has access to your biometric data.
- Live Activities: scan progress is shown on your Lock Screen from data on your device.
5. Tracking, analytics and advertising
The app contains no analytics, no advertising, no tracking SDKs and no third-party crash reporting. We do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not sell or share personal data.
6. Deleting your data
Because everything is stored on your device, you are in control. In the app, go to Settings > Delete all data and type DELETE to erase every wallet, recovery phrase, cache and setting. Deleting the app also removes its data. Make sure your recovery phrase is written down first, or your funds cannot be recovered.
7. Children
The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
8. Your rights
Data protection laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights to access, correct or delete personal data held about you. We hold no personal data about users of the app, so there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. You can delete everything the app stores on your device at any time, as described above.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the effective date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
